Ukemi – Koshi nage

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIn the below video, seniors from our dojo demonstrate training exercises to develop and learn skills to safely receive ukemi from koshi nage  (Hip throw)

The exercises include those associated with:

  • learning to maintain connection with and slide over the nage (as opposed to trying to jump over);
  • learning to hold onto the nage’s lapel (or wrap around the arm) where possible.

The demonstrations were informally recorded at an ukemi workshop at Aikido Warrior Dojo on 2 May 2015 .
