In the below video, seniors from our dojo demonstrate training exercises to develop and learn skills to safely receive ukemi from koshi nage (Hip throw).
The exercises include those associated with:
- learning to maintain connection with and slide over the nage (as opposed to trying to jump over);
- learning to hold onto the nage’s lapel (or wrap around the arm) where possible.
The demonstrations were informally recorded at an ukemi workshop at Aikido Warrior Dojo on 2 May 2015 .
