• Alternate application (including pin) 

In the following video, an alternate application of Yokomenuchi kaiten nage is demonstrated and discussed.  Notably this application results in the uke being pinned rather than projected.

 

• Kokyu principles

In the following video, Morihiro Saito Sensei explains the kokyu principles that underpin the entry for a wide variety of yokomenuchi (side strike to the temple) related Aikido techniques, including Yokomenuchi  kaiten nage.

 

• Ukemi

In the below video Andy Hathaway Sensei discusses and demonstrates the importance of the uke blocking the nage’s incoming knee strike.  The subject knee strike forms an integral part of the technique. An unprepared uke can inadvertently be injured if they do not respond appropriately.
